Addie Mitchell
First went skating when I was seven and saw figure skaters on the ice and wanted to be just like them. Didn't officially start skating or taking lessons until I was ten, but once I got going, I fell in love with the sport and wanted nothing more than to skate all the time. I'm a competitor in both state competitions and national series competitions, a double gold medalist (in freeskate and skating skills) and also have experience with ice dance, showcase, and more! I am now enjoying skating for the CSU figure skating team!
I graduated from Rocky Mountain High School class of 2024 and am now a student at CSU working on degrees in English, Spanish, and Sociology.
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY: My biggest goal for athletes is FUN and ENJOYMENT of the sport, because I strongly believe that no learning comes out of distaste and force. I support all paths of skating, from recreational to competitive, and take priority not in the development of athletes, but in the development and well-being of the WHOLE PERSON, because healthy athletes are more than just their scores and achievements.
CREDENTIALS: I'm a US Figure Skating and LTS USA certified coach, coaching Learn to Skate in group lessons and Private Lessons. I am an active participating member in the Fort Collins Figure Skating Club, I am a judge in local 6.0 competitions and have a solid background in IJS.
SKATING DISCIPLINES TAUGHT: Freeskate (jumps, spins, programs, choreography), Skating Skills (standard skating skills tests - aka: moves in the field), Ice dance (through pre-silver), and Showcase solo programs.
AVAILABILITY: Monday and Wednesday Mornings, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday afternoons.
