Valeria Quintero
SKATING BACKGROUND: I grew up skating and quickly fell in love with ice dance, with some crossover into pairs as well. After training and competing for several years, I discovered that coaching is where my passion for the sport truly lies. I love helping skaters connect with their music and build strong foundational technique. I emphasize edge quality, posture, artistry, and control to help them feel strong and confident on the ice. My goal is to prepare skaters to pass their USFSA tests, continue growing, and advance through each level. Watching skaters develop both technically and artistically keeps me inspired every day.
EDUCATION / OUTSIDE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Outside the rink, I help run a nonprofit animal rescue that provides veterinary outreach and education in rural Colombia. I recently graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Animal Sciences and am preparing to apply to veterinary school. I’m passionate about mentorship, community building, and making education accessible through hands-on experience.
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY: I strive to create a supportive and empowering environment where skaters feel comfortable taking risks, learning from mistakes, and growing. Within that space, I challenge each athlete to reach their full potential, developing not only technical skill but also confidence and artistry. Above all, I want skating to be a space where athletes feel inspired, creative, and proud of their progress.
